Outdoor Curriculum Uniform

Rationale and Choice
Being a Scout will certainly involve plenty of outdoor activities. Our standard Scout Uniform is actually 'unsuitable' for outdoor activities, from protection level to materials. As being a 6th Kowloon Scout, we are about doing it right, a carefully chosen set of outdoor uniform is chosen after careful considerations. The Outdoor curriculum uniform (OCU) as the name implies is heavily suited for outdoor activities, made from MUCH stronger material, with long sleeves (rollable) to long pants with sturdy boots. We also picked the camouflage pattern carefully, our selected pattern is "Multi-Cam" Pattern, a pattern that is currently being adopted by many militaries.
Multi-cam
As quite often our activities will involve camping and hiking, to reduce disruption to wild life and increased protection with surroundings when required, we selected the Multi-cam Pattern. Multi-cam pattern is created through careful lab work, comparing many different materials to best suit in ALL situation. Though the US militaries UCP works better in Urban environment, UCP is proven to be useless in non-urban areas. Similar is with many other patterns. Multi-cam is one of the best patterns adopted for Urban / mild vegetation and mountainous environment, which makes it most suitable for our scouting region.
