Being a highly disciplined unit, it is of most importance to understand where we stand in our organization, and the path one might be able to grow towards. 6th Kowloon Group follows military rules and the rank represents the Chain of Command. Details on the roles and qualifications can be found under the Group's Constitution. Insignia should be shown proudly on Outdoor uniforms according to standard.

Addressing Properly
During formal hours, scout of -all ranks- should address all superiors by Rank. Such is common courtesy and should be observed.
Promotion
The RANK is one's worth in the troop. Each rank an Honour. Ranks are granted by the promotion board, not asked nor trailed for. It is tradition and courtesy to never ask for a promotion, as asking for it decreases the value when granted. Promotion review is quarterly, granted to the deserving.
Demotion
As there is promotion, there will be Demotion as well. While Demotions usually do not happen unless there are 'better' suitors for the rank due to rank limits of each rank. Demotions will be decided by Scouter Council alone and requires no nomination. A person of a high rank may also 'request' demotion of his own rank should he feels he's not deserving, though it will be up to the Council to decide and not demotion is final unless the Scouter Council says so.
