Organization
6th Kowloon Group by regulation is operated by a warranted Group Scout Leader (GSL), with Diocesan Boys’ School’s Headmaster (Sponsor Unit Representative) as President and Chief-Commander-in-Honor. Group Chairman will be recommended and approved by GSL & President. The three positions will be the primary voting members of the Group Council. The Group Council or Annual Group Meeting is a meeting for the 3 positions, hosted by GSL, to discuss and vote on important matters. Should there be a vote each member of the council will have a vote of equal weight. Annual discussion scope will surround the aspirations of the President, and how the GSL may bring the aspirations to reality. In between Group Councils, GSL will assume full control of the Group, advising and commanding through the Scouter Council with a Teacher-in-charge (TIC) acting as Liaison to School. Also see Ranks and Insignias <p> All Ranks and Insignias are commissioned by GSL within the Group without exception. Rank is the basic measurement of “Authority”, while each Sectional Leader may have discretion on the difficulty in achieving each rank with GSL’s approval, Sectional Leaders may not on their own accord grant/promote/demote any ranks (Though Sectional Leaders are fully authorized to grant ‘Positions’.) A Sectional Leader may however ‘suspend’ a person’s rank in extreme situations, subjected to a testimony in the next Scouter Council with full disclosure. Each section may have their own subset of Member Ranks and Insignias with the approval of GSL. Officer ranks are for warranted leaders serving at Group Level only and universal for all sections. Insignias are standardized and may not be altered.
Insignias once issued, should be worn proper on uniforms that shows it: OAD, OCU. Insignias maybe worn on personal items as well, as long as placed properly and honourably.
