Badge of Challenger Award

This badge has been properly renamed as 'Advanced Award' since 2015. Earning this award requires advanced skills, knowledge and devotion. This is the first step towards the greater standard, and those with this award have proved that they are capable and can go beyond the common standard to be better than the rest. A scout with Challenger Qualification will be well recognized within the Troop as it takes great committment and dedication to achieve. A scout with Challenger will have priority in all M-4+ Promotions.

Requirements

Below listed the requirements of Challenger Award together with extra requirements from our troop.

  1. 童軍技能
      1. 懂得使用、保養及指導他人如何安全使用不同種類的爐具和營燈，並以適當爐具在一個兩日一夜或以上之露營中負責烹煮小隊之膳食；或
        • Log and prepare full camp meal plan, pack to cleaning.
        • Automatic qualified with Camper Badge.
      2. 在一個兩日一夜或以上之露營中負責管理整個營地之衛生。
        • Perfect camp hygiene condition for overnight non-DBS camp.
        • Automatic qualified with Camp Warden Badge.
    2. 策劃及帶領完成一個應用不少於兩種編結之先鋒工程紮作。
      • Lead a patrol pioneering project, show plan.
      • Automatic qualified with Pioneer Badge.
      1. 能辨認本地六種不同種類的植物、鳥類或昆蟲，並了解它們的生長特性；或
        • Know everything about it. Show material.
        • Automatic qualified with Conservator Badge.
      2. 示範在冒險性活動中如何處理出血、骨折和身體失溫等意外，及懂得處理人事不省患者之正確方法。
        • Pass test involving accident handling and first aid knowledge.
        • Automatic qualified with First-aid Badge.
      1. 能操控一艘非機動的船艇；或
        • Operate a boat for real.
        • Automatic qualified with Boatman Badge.
      2. 策劃及進行一個原野烹飪活動。
        • Organize a backwoods (troop / patrol).
        • Show picture and log.
        • Automatic qualified with Backwoods Badge.
      1. 參與一個使用密碼通訊之活動；或
        • Leade a treasure hunt, or hos decrypting session.
        • Automatic qualified with Orienteer Badge.
      2. 編製一個適用於團集會地方、家居及露營之安全查核表，以預防發生危險；或
        • Really know about safety in camps and other situations.
        • Automatic qualified with Camp warden Badge or Fireman Badge.
      3. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之童軍技能活動。
        • Lead an activity with more then five participants.
        • Automatic qualified with "ANY Pursuit/Service Badge" (cannot repeat use).


  2. 童軍技能
    1. 經訓練後，與三名或以上之童軍，完成一次不少於二十公里以徒步或不少於三十公里以單車或船艇之兩日一夜遠足旅程。
      • Real hike camp, at least 40 km.
      • hint: Join or organize early, often a choke point here.
    2. 完成下列其中兩項：
      1. 在本港或外地完成一項日間或夜間之定向旅程，並懂得如何利用太陽和星座辨別方向。
        • Orienteered before
        • Can read directions from stars and sun.
        • Automatic qualified with Orienteer Badge.
      2. 作為一隻船艇之舵手，進行一簡單旅程，期間須示範控制航向、轉彎、拋錨及拖行一小艇。
        • Automatic qualified with Boatman Badge.
      3. 參與一項拯救實習，並將傷者從荒野、水上或失事車輛中救出。
        • Show knoeledge in actual rescue operation, demonstrate.
        • Lead a rescue exercise simulation rescuing someone stranded on cliff.
        • Automatic qualified with Fireman Badge or Bronze Medallion.
      4. 為新加入之童軍成員組織及進行一次康樂旅行（例如：家樂徑或自然教育徑）。
        • Lead a hiking trip.
      5. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之歷險活動。
        • Lead a GM or major operation
        • Automatic qualified with Explorer Badge.


  3. 文化藝術
    1. 完成下列其中兩項：
      1. 製作及示範一個可以操控之模型（例如：熱氣球、飛機、動力船艇、蒸氣輪機等）。
        • Mobile model making.
        • Automatic qualified with Model Maker Badge.
      2. 製作一項介紹童軍的文藝作品（例如：繪畫、雕塑、詩詞）。
        • E.g. Logo of 6KSG, need to win approval.
      3. 參與並成為一個管弦樂團、合唱團、樂隊、音樂或戲劇小組的固定成員。最少有一年成員資格。
      4. 製作及展示一輯相片或圖文，以介紹你居所附近的城市發展。
      5. 自選一項文藝活動，並安排在團活動中與其他成員分享。
      6. 組織一個內容為美術、工藝、創作性活動或國際童軍交誼之團活動。
      7. 與一朋友探訪一個有獨特文化之村鎮（例如：錦田吉慶圍或大澳漁村），或參觀一間博物館、藝術館、畫廊或其他有關文化或藝術之展覽廳，然後將所得之經驗和知識與其他成員分享。
      8. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之文化藝術活動。
        • Visit somewhere cultural overseas, learn everything.


  4. 社區
    1. 完成下列其中兩項：
      1. 與其他童軍合作製作一張宣傳海報，以介紹所屬小隊或童軍團如何參與社區活動。
        • Make a NICE poster, post it.
      2. 定期參與三個月而不少於六次，在一個宗教團體、傷殘人士服務機構、老人中心或社區中心等提供服務。
      3. 學習與弱視或弱聽人士之溝通方法（例如：參加一個手語訓練班）。
      4. 與所屬小隊一同策劃及進行一項環境保護工作。
      5. 在小隊長會議認可之下，於指定時間內與其他童軍完成一個社區服務。
        • Troop service with other organizations.
      6. 邀請一位非童軍的朋友，參與一次團集會或其他童軍活動。訪問該名參加者對是次活動的感受，並向小隊長會議作匯報。
        • Invite friend to GM and write log.
      7. 在一項事工或群體活動中，擔任財政預算及會計工作。
        • Making budget for patrol.
        • Treasurer of patrol.
      8. 認識及研究一個與環境保護和自然生態有關的地方（例如：米埔自然保護區、西貢海下灣海岸公園、有機農場、自然教育徑等）。
        • E.g. Mai Po Nature Reserve.
        • Automatic qualified with Conservator Badge.
      9. 探索虐待寵物個案及作一個反虐待動物的宣傳計劃。
      10. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之社區活動。


  5. 健康
    1. 完成下列其中兩項：
      1. 成為一個隊制體育項目之正式成員（例如：校隊或體育隊伍），並定期參與有關項目三個月而不少於六次。
        • School team, team A, No benchers.
      2. 認識在露營期間應有之衛生，並予以實踐。
        • Automatic qualified with Camp Warden Badge.
      3. 明瞭人體之生長和發育過程，與及酗酒、吸煙、有機溶劑和濫用藥物對健康的影響。
        • Write essay no lesser then 500 words.
      4. 在小隊長會議認同之下，完成一個自行擬定之體能目標，該目標必須能提升目前之水準。
      5. 示範個人之求生游泳技能。
        • Automatic qualified with Bronze Medallion.
      6. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之健康活動。
        • High level sports Pursuit badge.
        • Complete 100km Hike. (or Own trailwalker Cert of completion.)


  6. 承諾
    1. 完成下列其中兩項：
      1. 三個月的小隊紀錄。
        • Keep patrol log.
        • Not limited to PL, member can do also.
      2. 選擇合適的禱文，並分別在四次團集會或活動中，帶領其他童軍進行祈禱或讀經。
        • LEad sincere prayer groups
        • Automatic qualified with Religion Badge.
      3. 認識一位同齡但不同宗教信仰之人士的生活習慣，並向你所屬小隊介紹彼此的異同。
        • Learn about religion, know the difference.
      4. 向一成年人闡述童軍誓詞及規律與日常學校和家庭生活的關係。
        • Final discussion with SL or GSL.
        • MUST do this.
      5. 向一位飼養寵物的人士闡述保護動物法例。
      6. 參與一個由小隊長會議和童軍團長認可有類似性質及相若程度之承諾活動。


  7. 服務
    1. 參與不少於十二小時由區、地域或總會認許之服務工作。
      • Selected troop level service.
    2. 示範正確升旗、降旗及收藏旗幟之方法。
      • Learn and demonstrate the proper way of rasing flag, flag break, etc.
      • Proper footdrill included.


  8. 領導才
    1. 闡述小隊長會議之功能，並出席最少一次會議及負責執行其中一項議決案。


  9. 專科／活動徽章
      1. 考取下列其中一個從未在過往獎章獲得之技能組專科徽章；或
        1. 露營
          • Chief scout will require 2 of these groups, 1 here, 1 in Chief Scout requirement.
        2. 探險
          • Chief scout will require 2 of these groups, 1 here, 1 in Chief Scout requirement.
        3. 先鋒工程
          • Chief scout will require 2 of these groups, 1 here, 1 in Chief Scout requirement.
        4. 風帆
        5. 獨木舟
      2. 高級航空章；或
      3. 副舵手章。
      1. 考取一個服務組專科徽章；或
        • Interpreter Badge is easy.
      2. 社區參與章；或
      3. 維護自然世界章；或
      4. 世界童軍環境章。
